Our Story

Wimmer Roofing, Windows & Siding began over 40 years ago as a family-owned business in Welcome, NC. For the first three decades, the Wimmer family built the company from the ground up, earning a reputation for quality craftsmanship and a friendly, no-hassle customer experience.

Over the years, the Wimmers and Joel Foster — now the current owner — formed a lasting connection through high school sports, family ties, and a shared passion for small business rooted in exterior home remodeling across the Triad. In March 2016, Joel and Colleen Foster proudly became the new owners of Wimmer Roofing, Windows & Siding, committed to growing the business, while preserving the family-friendly atmosphere customers have come to know and love.

Joel Foster brings a wealth of industry experience, having grown up in a family deeply involved in the windows, roofing, and siding business — through respected local companies such as Binnings Building Products and Reynolds Building Products. After spending 15 years working in his family’s home remodeling business, Joel transitioned to Deere-Hitachi (now John Deere) in Kernersville, NC, where he served as both a welder and a Production Supervisor in fabrication. During his time there, his relationship with the Wimmer family continued to grow, eventually leading to meaningful conversations about carrying forward the legacy of their business.

Over the past decade, the Fosters have expanded the team, grown the business, and moved into a larger, more centrally located facility in the heart of the Triad. Through it all, they’ve remained committed to the values that built Wimmer’s legacy — quality workmanship, honest service, and treating every customer like family.
